A nonprofit, voluntary, self-governing association of residents of Chickaloon, AK. It is recognized by assembly resolution, but is not an arm of the Matsu Borough.
The Chickaloon Community Council boundaries are located in South Central Alaska, within the Matanuska-Susitna Borough. The Glenn Highway traverses the area, with the Western boundary located at Milepost 66.5 (Kings River) and the Eastern boundary at Milepost 89 (Purinton Creek). Castle Mountain and the Talkeetna Mountain roughly delineate the Northern boundary, and the Southern boundary can generally be described as the Chugach Mountains adjacent to the matanuska River. It is approximately 164 square miles in size, with a population estimated to be under 300 people.
 
The purpose of the Community Council is to provide Chickaloon residents a direct and continuing means of citizen participation in government and local affairs. General meetings of the Community Council are held at 7:00 PM on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at the Chickaloon Community Hall, Milepost 76.2 of the Glenn Highway. The meetings are open to the public, and residents are encouraged to attend and get involved.
